ETS is pleased to announce that TOEFL iBT tests taken from May 5th, 2024, onward, are now valid for Australian visa purposes.

 

In July last year, the Australian Department of Home Affairs issued a statement on its website that from 26 July 2023, TOEFL iBT will no longer be offering English language tests for Australian visa purposes until further notice. (TKN 24/7/23)

 

The government has considered and TOEFL is back.

 

In a statement to the Koala News, a spokesperson for ETS said, “ETS is grateful for the consideration of the Australian Department of Home Affairs (DHA) through this review process of the enhanced TOEFL iBT.”

 

“We appreciate the DHA’s exacting standards for English proficiency and their recognition that the TOEFL iBT upholds them. TOEFL, the premiere test of academic English proficiency, continues to be accepted by 100% of Australian universities and more than 12,500 institutions worldwide.” They said.

 

In a further statement provided to Koala News, ETS says it looks forward to supporting learners looking to study in Australia and skilled workers in Australia through TOEFL as they continue to open doors for everyone, everywhere.

The TOEFL iBT must be taken at a test center as the Australian government does not currently accept any English-language tests that are taken online.
